Pashley Cycles has launched the Roadfinder, with both pedal-only and electric options. It says that the model offers versatility, allowing you to choose a setup for road cycling, gravel riding or the burgeoning all-road ride style.
There are four bikes in the collection, each available in three standard specs: the Roadfinder and Roadfinder E for roadies and the Roadfinder X and Roadfinder X E for gravel riding, with the E denoting the electric versions.
Prices range from £2,795 to.£4,595 for pedal-powered and £3,995 to £5,995 for electric bikes.

Not just your average steel frame

Pashley Cycles claims to be the oldest British bicycle maker. Founded in 1926, it hand-builds its range of bikes in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
Pashley CEO Andy Smallwood, who used to head up Ribble, said, ‘The brief for the Roadfinder project was to develop a collection of extremely versatile bicycles that give cyclists the ability to conquer multiple terrains, journeys and adventures on one beautifully hand-crafted machine.’
The Roadfinder and Roadfinder X models have an endurance-oriented Reynolds 853 steel frame, which is corrosion-protected before painting. There’s clearance for 45mm tyres, with Pashley fitting 35mm tyres to the road specs and 45mm tyres on the off-road bikes.
The frame is paired with a Columbus Futura Cross+ carbon fork, which includes a flip chip to allow you to fine-tune the bike’s geometry and fork leg mounting points.

The seat cluster is 3D printed, which Pashley says helps enhance the frame’s clean lines, and the frame has a UDH derailleur hanger and internal cable routing. The front derailleur hanger can be removed and doesn’t feature in the gravel-oriented bikes, which have a 1x setup.
The Roadfinder frames offer mudguard mounting points – with colour co-ordinated mudguards an option for the road-going bikes – as well as front and rear rack mounts, a third bottle mount and top tube mounting points.
Pashley offers the road-going Roadfinder with Shimano 105 mechanical, 105 Di2 and Ultegra Di2 groupsets, as well as Parcours Alta carbon wheels on higher specs, Zipp components and a Brooks saddle. Claimed whole bike weights start at 9.5kg.
Prices range from £2,795 for 105, via £3,995 for 105 Di2 to £4,595 with Ultegra.

The gravel-oriented Roadfinder X is offered with a choice of Shimano GRX 610 or SRAM Rival AXS 12-speed or Campagnolo Ekar 13-speed 1x groupsets, with the same Parcours Alta wheels on the two higher specs and Zipp and Brooks finishing kit. There’s internal cable routing to fit a dropper post, should you wish. Claimed weights start at 9.8kg.
Prices for the Roadfinder X are £2,795 for GRX, £4,295 for Rival AXS and £4,595 for Ekar specs.
There’s also a Roadfinder frameset available for £1,595.
And electric models

Meanwhile, the Roadfinder E and Roadfinder X E framesets are made of a mix of Reynolds 725, 631 and 525 anti-corrosion coated tubing. Again, there’s a range of 3D printed frame components.
The E versions are powered by the compact Mahle X20 rear hub motor. The road-going option has a claimed weight from 13.2kg, while the off-road Roadfinder X E’s weight is claimed at 13.5kg. Prices for the three road-going and three gravel specs range from £3,995 to £5,995.
